the artist was having cramps in his hands during all this and would have to stop and try and get the cramp out.
I could hardly move and it felt like I had a fever and almost sick feeling the rest of the night. and man, the next few days were hell. I'll never do that much at one time again!

On the subject of long sittings...I don't have tats, never felt the urge, but I know plenty of people who do...and a few artists...and one guy who has been in the business for about 30 years told me about a woman who had a dragon put on her back sitting for over eight or nine hours, hardly moved, didn't ask for any breaks, barely spoke a word and said it never hurt. He said she was the creepiest customer he ever had, including the felons. I get kinda creeped just thinking about it. They do say women generally have higher endurance than men, though...
